btw, i had this dream last night na nakatira daw kami sa malaking bahay. much like the house na tinirhan namin sa Gen. Tinio when we were in elementary. and i had a brand new laptop at may bago daw kaming tv sa kwarto ni Abbie. may cable din. hehehe!
Christine (Anne Curtis) can think of 101 reasons why her dad must not marry her mom. The number one reason is that Georgia (AiAi de las Alas), her mother, disappeared from her life twenty years ago and never came back.
Now Christine is confused: Why does her father want to marry her mom, who had caused them so much heartache?
Christine tells her father that she will go to the Philippines to find out if Georgia is indeed worthy of his love. However, her real plan is to look for evidence to discredit her mom in her dad's eyes, so she can prevent the wedding. With the help of her Pinay yaya, Nanny Ninonu (Eugene Domingo), she captures with a videocam every little imperfection that she finds in her mom.
When Christine goes to her mother's town in Malabon, what starts out as an investigation turns out to be a hilarious yet touching journey for both mother and daughter. Christine's outrageous attempts to expose her mother's flaws are all foiled, as Georgia also comes up with hysterical schemes to win her daughter's love. Meanwhile, things get more riotous when Nanny Ninonu's blind heart falls for Junjun (John Lapus), who is obviously gay.
Again and again, Christine is frustrated as no matter how she tries to harden her own heart, she cannot help but fall in love with her mother's town and its people, especially Val (Luis Manzano), Georgia's anak-anakan. Through Val's eyes, she reluctantly begins to see what it means to have a real mother.
Despite his feelings of attraction towards Christine, however, Val is suspicious of Christine's intentions. What happens if he discovers Christine's secret plot to discredit Georgia ? Will Georgia have a place in Christine's life? Can Christine learn to accept Georgia as her mother, even if she discovers a dark secret in her mother's past?
Eventually, Christine's search for her mother's faults leads her to a discovery of true love. In trying to uncover her mother's hidden scandals, she manages to unlock her secrets to heartfelt motherhood and simple happiness.
the cast & director of "Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo"
believe it or not, nung Sunday ko lang napanood ang movie na 'to.. hehehe! nakahabol pa eh noh? sa SM san lazaro pa naman 6 lang sinehan, kaya swerte na may naabutan pa kami. last week ko lang actually nayaya si Armie. sabi ko sa kanya, kung gusto niya manood. eh sabi niya wala siyang pera, sabi ko naman libre ko siya pero sine lang. hehehe! pumayag naman. pero di ko pa alam nun kung meron pang malapit sa amin na nagpapalabas ng movie na 'to ha.
i did say na naiwan lang ako sa bahay nitong weekend di ba? then Sunday came at pumunta ko ng Morayta to meet with Elvie. may binigay kasi ako sa kanyang teddy bear and sabay na din kami nag-lunch. sandali lang kami nagkasama kasi break lang niya nun in her final preboard exams.
feeling very happy 'coz i got to see one of my good friends.. i was in a jolly mood pagdating ko ng bahay eventhough it was really hot. katanghaliang-tapat ba naman. eniweis, kakain pa lang nun ng lunch sina Mama at Armie. i rifled through the Sunday edition ng diyaryo namin and found the movie skeds. sabi ko kay Armie, "meron pa pala nung 'Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo' sa SM san lazaro oh.. gusto mo manood?"
siyempre andun din si Mama kaya ayun kaming tatlo na manonood. i even went online para makita ko lang 'yung time ng movie. para siguradong masisimulan namin. there was this 1:10pm, 3:15pm & 5:20pm (if my memory serves me right. hehe!). sira kasi ang sasakyan that day kaya commute lang kami.. kaya tiningnan ko lang talaga eh 'yung pang-hapon. and unwittingly, niyaya na din pala ni Mama si Raymond. kasi sabi ni Armie, gusto din daw ng kuya niya na mapanood 'yun. ayos lang naman, carry ko pa naman ang pang-sine nila.. sine lang talaga ha. hehe!
so it was settled na papanoorin namin 'yung 3:15 then diretsong simbahan na for the 5pm mass. i guess it was past 2pm when Mama said na magsimba na nga lang daw muna kami. nakakahiya nga naman na mauna pa ang pamamasyal kesa sa weekly obligation mo di ba? so we attended the 3:30pm Children's mass, nilakad lang namin galing sa bahay. after the mass, sumakay kami ng Retiro - Divisoria na jeep. nangingiti na nga lang on the way to SM, kasi nun lang ulit kami nag-commute with Mama. at sa jeepney pa, di taxi. bonding ituh!
after paying for the tickets, si Mama naman bumili ng snacks namin sa loob. halos di nagkakalayo ang binayaran ko sa tickets sa binili niyang food & drinks namin. nagulat nga ko at isa sa mga binili niya eh Chicken skin. ayos lang sana kaya lang 'yung suka.. ang hirap hawakan sa loob ng sinehan. at medyo naaamoy ng mga katabi namin. ahehe!
as for the movie, sobrang nakakatuwa siya. ako, si Armie at si Raymond must have been one of the noisiest there, sa kakatawa namin. pagkatapos ng movie, dun na din sana kami kakain ng dinner. the prob was offline ang Chinabank, Bancnet kasi 'yung ATM ni Mama. so 'yun, diretso uwi na lang kami. nag-withdraw na lang si Mama sa malapit na bangko sa amin at bumili ng Pares for our dinner.
like i said, bonding talaga ituh! sayang nga lang at wala nun si Papa, na nasa Hong Kong ulit at the time.. and si Abbie na pabalik pa lang from her outing. i'm glad na something as simple as watching a movie together -- ngayon lang ulit namin nagawa. at kahit papano, masasabi ko na treat ko 'yun. super lapit na din kasi ng alis nila papuntang States eh.
apart from OOTP, i've been waiting for these movies to come.. and next week, sana walang maging aberya, manonood ako ng Spiderman 3 with Abbie, Rheanne & her sister, Aigee. sa Pirates di ko pa alam kung sino makakasama ko.. pero i was hoping ang bespren ko ang kasama ko sa Shrek. ahehe!
home alone ako ngayon sa bahay.. but i really don't want to elaborate.. kaya that's that.. eniweis, here's another set of quotes. kasabay lang 'to nung love quotes.. hehe! sa totoo lang ayoko na i-send ang mga 'to sa text kaya pinost ko na lang.
If you want your friendship to be strong, never forget to tell your friend his bad qualities. - Himanshu Sharma
A true friend will always remain close to your heart. - Himanshu Sharma
Your friends will know you better in the first minute you meet than your acquaintances will know you in a thousand years. - Richard Bach
When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing, and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. - Henri Nouwen
It's the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter. - Marlene Dietrich
The proper office of a friend is to side with you when you are in the wrong. Nearly anybody will side with you when you are in the right. - Mark Twain
True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it be lost. - Charles Caleb Cotton
True wealth can not be found in your bank account. It can only be found in those you call friend. Those with whom you share your deepest feelings. And those who accept you for who you really are. - Mary Vandergrift
It is a great confidence in a friend to tell him your faults; greater to tell him his. - Benjamin Franklin
A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel, or not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at any moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is. - Jim Morrison
A friend knows the song in my heart and sings it to me when my memory fails. - Donna Roberts
Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another. - Thomas Hughes
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. - Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over. - Octavia Butler
The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart. - Katherine Mansfield
The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers, and cities; but to know someone here and there who thinks and feels with us, and though distant, is close to us in spirit, this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden. - Goethe
after three weeks, ngayon ko lang nagawa ang entry na 'to.. ahehe! i just want to share 'yung mga pinuntahan naming mga simbahan nung Holy Week. ang tagal na din kasing di nagagawa 'yung talagang Bisita Iglesia na matatawag. the last time we've done it nung trip namin sa Ilocos. 14 churches in all, from sa hotel namin sa Ilocos going to Baguio.. to date, that was the coolest station of the cross ever. kasi we get to see these historic churches.
eniweis, eto na sa wakas.. in order of course! from Lourdes Church na malapit sa bahay namin, until sa Ermita Church kung saan nag-25th wedding anniversary sina Papa at Mama. sinubukan ko naman makakuha ng pics ng mga 'to kaya lang iilan lang ang nakita ko sa internet. sayang, sana pala kinuhanan ko din noon 'yung bawat puntahan namin. eniweis, i also made a slideshow of the pics namin.. :D
lately, i have this habit of searching sa internet ng mga quotes para ma-i-forward pag nakaunli ako. i compiled a lot weeks ago.. and i do mean a lot. a great number of them from Wikiquote. i got different feedback from my friends. Elvie even asked kung ok lang daw ba ko kasi andami ko daw mag-send.. kung in love daw ba ko.. huwwaaatt???!!!
eniweis, here's some of my fave.. siyempre di ko na 'to sinend pa sa iba.. baka ano pa ang masabi nila.. hehehe! well, tsaka mahaba sila. wala ko tiyaga mag-type.. hahaha! :D
All our young lives we search for someone to love. Someone who makes us complete. We choose partners and change partners. We dance to a song of heartbreak and hope. All the while wondering if somewhere, somehow, there's someone perfect who might be searching for us. - from The Wonder Years
Today I begin to understand what love must be, if it exists. . . . When we are parted, we each feel the lack of the other half of ourselves. We are incomplete like a book in two volumes of which the first has been lost. That is what I imagine love to be: incompleteness in absence. - from The Goncourt Journals
Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love. - Neil Gaiman
If I love you, what business is it of yours? - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Free love? As if love is anything but free! Man has bought brains, but all the millions in the world have failed to buy love. Man has subdued bodies, but all the power on earth has been unable to subdue love. Man has conquered whole nations, but all his armies could not conquer love. Man has chained and fettered the spirit, but he has been utterly helpless before love. High on a throne, with all the splendor and pomp his gold can command, man is yet poor and desolate, if love passes him by. And if it stays, the poorest hovel is radiant with warmth, with life and color. Thus love has the magic power to make of a beggar a king. Yes, love is free; it can dwell in no other atmosphere. - Emma Goldman
I have never met a person whose greatest need was anything other than real, unconditional love. You can find it in a simple act of kindness toward someone who needs help. There is no mistaking love. You feel it in your heart. It is the common fiber of life, the flame that heals our soul, energizes our spirit and supplies passion to our lives. It is our connection to God and to each other. - Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
To him she seemed so beautiful, so seductive, so different from ordinary people, that he could not understand why no one was as disturbed as he by the clicking of her heels on the paving stones, why no one else's heart was wild with the breeze stirred by the sighs of her veils, why everyone did not go mad with the movements of her braid, the flight of her hands, the gold of her laughter. He had not missed a single one of her gestures, not one of the indications of her character, but he did not dare approach her for fear of destroying the spell. - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
"How come we don't always know when love begins, but we always know when it ends? - from L. A. Story

i was looking for an info on the reality show Big Brother, when i came across a tidbit of an infomation na kasama nga si Big Brother sa mga wacky surveys na ganito. this is an excerpt from the book "101 Most Influential People Who Never Lived" by Allan Lazar, Dan Karlan & Jeremy Salter. though you may not agree on some, nakakatuwa pa din makita 'yung names nina Betty Boop, Luke Skywalker, Superman, Mickey Mouse, etc. :)

"We are delighted to once again work with David Heyman and the Harry Potter team, and Warner Bros. Pictures on another memorable Harry Potter movie," added Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "We know that through the magic of IMAX, fans will already feel as is if they are right next to Harry, Ron and Hermione in IMAX's larger-than-life 2D format, and we are thrilled to treat them to an even more immersive experience with the finale of the film brought to you in IMAX 3D."
